There are a few grocery stores selling imported goods in Battambang, but the best place to shop for groceries is still the local markets. Conveniently opposite Psar Nath, Chea Neang Drink Shop is known around town as the “Western shop” and has the best selection of imported products in town. There you can find a wide range of Western products: natural yogurt, cheese, baking supplies, instant cake mix, and Nutella, as well as dry goods such as canned beans, lentils, muesli, cereal, and even tortillas and tahini. They’ve also got a large selection of French wines.

The closest thing to a proper grocery store that Battambang’s got, Heng Chhay Ly Mart sells mostly dry goods, including baking supplies and snacks, plus a large range of Korean and Japanese products and ingredients. They also carry fresh milk and yogurts, cheeses, canned and packed foods and drinks, as well as some frozen items. In addition to groceries, Heng Chhay Ly Mart has a has a large selection of wine, household tools, stationary, cosmetics, clothing, and housewares.
