One of the first challenges newcomers to Cambodia have to deal with is transportation. We’ve got some simple tips for taking tuk tuks that will make your life a lot easier–and that apply to taking moto taxis as well.

To get out of town, most locals rely on long-distance buses, but there are also flights out of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. Just be careful of the land crossings. They inevitably require patience, and usually bribes as well.

If you’re ready to drive your own moto, you’ll need to get a license and be prepared to deal with the local police on a regular basis. We also have some tips to keep you safe in Cambodian traffic.
