Siem Reap’s LGBTQ+ Pride Weekend 2019

For the second year, Siem Reap will be hosting its own sensational pride line-up of events and festivities, kicking off the 10-day Cambodia Gay Pride 2019. If you’ve been looking for an excuse to visit Siem Reap, this is it.

Cambodia pride comes to Temple Town for 2018!

Friday, May 10th – Siem Reap

6 p.m.

To kick off Cambodia Pride 2019, Miss Wong is hosting a cocktail party from 6 to 8 p.m., and 15% of profits will be going towards A Place To Be Yourself, an organization that provides support to Khmer LGBTIQ+ individuals. You can find more info on the official Facebook event page.

8 p.m. until late

This year’s opening party is at Barcode Siem Reap, and wigs are strongly encouraged! There will be free vodka caramel shots to everyone wearing a wig, as well as a presentation by A Place To Be Yourself. Here’s the official event.

Saturday, May 11th – Siem Reap

10:30 a.m.

Yoga Space Siem Reap will be hosting Fabulous Flow Yoga that might be a good detox from the party at Barcode. All proceeds will go towards APTBY.

2:30 to 5 p.m.

Sick of the yearly commute to Phnom Penh for the big gay tuk tuk race, Siem Reapers took it upon themselves to set one up in temple town, and it is only amazing. Teams of 1 to 4 people will compete in a 2.5 hour scavenger hunt around Siem Reap, and unsurprisingly, looks are just as important as skill, so be sure to decorate your tuk tuk! The cost the enter the ‘Gay-mazing Tuk Tuk Race’ is $15 per team (which does not include a tuk tuk), or $10 for a solo person (which does include a tuk tuk). All proceeds go to A Place to Be Yourself. You can reserve a tuk tuk for an additional $15, or bring your own. Register in advance online.

6 p.m. to late

If the Gay-mazing Race has gotten you all hot and bothered, head to Rambutan Hotel and Resort for the Rainbows and Unicorns Pool Party. There will be special discounts on drinks and food, and the pool will be open for business. The cost is $4, or $2 for Cambodians, and the cost includes one free drink. Prizes for the best “Rainbow Unicorn Fantasy” costumes. Official event info.

Sunday, May 12th – Siem Reap

9 a.m. to noon

On Sunday drop by A Place To Be Yourself (APTBY) for their open house and find out how they are helping to support Siem Reap’s LBGTQ+ community. Check their event listing because they have things going on all day long, including live music, speakers, free and game. Find out more.

Wild-Creative-Bar-Siem-Reap

Recover at the Rambutan and Wild ‘Splash & Chill.’

2 to 6 p.m.

Wild Creative Bar and Rambutan Resort are having a joint event, Rambutan and Wild Splash & Chill afternoon. There will be food and drink stalls from Siem Reap’s best restaurants and bars, and there will be swimming in the Rambutan pool. Free entrance, more details here.

5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The fifth in a series of ‘Sugar Talks‘ will be part of Pride Week in Cambodia. Six members of the Siem Reap LGBTQ+ community will each speak for 10 minutes to talk about what their are passionate about. The event will be held in the air-conditioned Sugar Beauty Boutique. More info here.

8 p.m. until late

To wrap up the weekend Sokkhak River Lounge is having this year’s Siem Reap Pride Closing Party. Live music and dancing, and if you buy a drink you’re entered into a lucky draw. For more information, check the event Facebook page.

    Thanks for the info. I have not seen a lot
    of promotion for the events. I’ll probably get to some of the happenings but if I never hear YMCA again in my life it will be too soon.
