Easily one of the coolest places to stay on Otres Beach, Done Right offers eco-friendly accommodations, daily yoga classes, and a happening bar and restaurant.
Done Right is an eco-friendly place to stay on Otres Beach, made using recycled and sustainable materials. The bar was built from beer cans and beer bottles are the base for many of the walls. The bar and restaurant are a bit of a local hangout, and there are private rooms and dorms, but it’s the geodome rooms that stand out.
Eight white geodomes offer spacious, igloo-like accommodation, each with a double bed with mosquito net, fan, private bathroom, and skylight to stargaze at night. The walls of the bathroom are illuminated by light flooding through the colorful glass bottles that were used to build the wall, giving your shower a beautiful mosaic-like effect as well as much-needed privacy.
The geodomes are undeniably cool, but there are also several other housing options at Done Right, including an eight-person dorm, as well as single, double, and triple rooms with shared bathrooms. These are all above the bar and are a far cry from the relatively high-end geodomes, they offer very little privacy (the walls do not go to the top of the ceiling) and aren’t in the least bit stylish. But they are cheap, and there seem to be a collection of Otres burnouts who make the place home.
There’s an attached restaurant and bar, where they have buffet dinners on Sundays that include vegetarian and vegan offerings, and live music after dinner. There’s a full bar menu at Done Right, but because it tends to be a popular and sometimes noisy hangout, they will try and persuade you to move the festivities just down the road to Blame Canada, their sister establishment.
There are also daily yoga classes, depending, of course, on your definition of daily. Done Right has definitely embraced the relaxed Otres vibe, so nothing, even yoga classes are guaranteed. There’s even a small outdoor gym with free weights and a punchbag. Done Right is not directly on the beach, but across the Marina road, making it a bit drier in rainy season. It’s just a three-minute walk to the beach.
In the high season, bungalows go for around $28, but can dip as low as $10 in low season.
